As part of our team, Megan O’Dell brings new ideas and experiences into the projects we’re working on. We asked a few questions and she had a few answers:
- Describe yourself in three words:
Optimistic, diligent, and energetic.
- How did you become interested in architecture?
My initial interest was actually in interior design, but I discovered that architecture was more encompassing in terms of design. It meant I could take the design from the inside out, all the way to the site and surrounding context. I was hopeful this aspect would present more design opportunities in the long run, so I pursued it instead. I have always been curious about buildings and the way they are composed.
- What has been your favorite project so far?
My favorite project has been Texas Kidney Consultants (8th Avenue in Ft Worth) because of the scale and the scope of the project. It has been a learning experience to see the project through all phases of design into construction.
- What do you like to do outside of the office?
During my downtime, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like going to restaurants, out to the lake on weekends, and playing Nintendo Switch or other video games.
- What is your ideal getaway vacation?
My ideal vacation would be to visit Iceland to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).
Megan got her BS in University Studies followed by a Masters in Architecture at the University of Texas at Arlington. We’re so fortunate to have her on our team!
